In Sacramento, California if you own an electric car as photographed here, you will get free electronic fuel (charging) for up to two years
Electric vehicle (EV’s) is a car that uses battery-powered electric motors instead of gasoline. The car is “fueled” by plugging in a charging equipment to a power outlet, very similar with the way a smartphone or laptop are charged. This innovation is economical, produces no emission and environmentally friendly.
Sacramento Municipal Utility District is community-owned electric service provider, providing electricity for more than 65 years to Sacramento County. SMUD is the first large California utility to receive more than 20 percent of its energy from renewable resources.
In recent year they added the electric vehicle on their lists of resource, providing incentives such as free charger and charge estimator for the users.
In front of Sacramento Municipal Utility District (SMUD) lobby area, they have a Nissan LEAF exhibit that highlights the mechanics of an electric vehicle.
In the parking lot, the SMUD has a fast charging section that is available for free for electric car owners.
