USAID Works with Indonesia’s Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources in Drafting National Competence Standards on Measurement and Verification for Energy Efficiency Projects

31 July 2019

The Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (MEMR) Directorate of Energy Conservation (DEK) requested USAID Indonesia Clean Energy Development II (USAID ICED II) support in developing national competency standards (SKKNI) for measurement and verification (M&V) for energy efficiency projects. The standards on M&V will support Government of Indonesia’s commitment to reduce national energy intensity. USAID ICED II supports the Directorate’s efforts by holding a series of focus group discussions and workshops on this subject. On July 30-31, 2019, USAID ICED II held the second focus group discussion that allowed SKKNI technical team comprised of 30 experts, related government officials, academicians, and practitioners to develop a draft of the competency standards. USAID ICED II plans to hold the next discussion in August 2019 to finalize the draft.
