On May 18-20, 2020, PLN Corporate University hosted an on-line training of trainers (ToT) on evaluating proposed biogas power projects. USAID Indonesia Clean Energy Development II (ICED II) organized the training for 16 PLN staff from various regional offices.

The training provided useful reference documents and hands-on tools to use when reviewing and evaluating the feasibility study on biogas projects. In addition, the training is part of the ICED II and PLN join effort to transfer knowledge, so PLN trainers co-delivered the sessions.

USAID ICED II developed guidelines designed to assist PLN staff in reviewing feasibility studies of various renewable energy power project types proposed by independent power producers. To roll out the guidelines and to promote adoption of the guidelines by PLN staff, USAID ICED II and PLN Corporate University are holding a series of ToT workshops. The first training in the series was held on February 24-25, 2020 with a focus on evaluating bioenergy power projects, while the second training, with a focus on hydropower projects, was held on April 21-23, 2020..
