State-owned electricity company PLN’s Corporate University hosted an online training of trainers (ToT) on April 21-23, 2020 in Jakarta, to evaluate proposed hydropower power projects. Organized by USAID Indonesia Clean Energy Development II (ICED II) project, the virtual training was attended by 19 participants from various PLN offices.
The training provided useful reference documents and hands-on tools to review and evaluate hydropower projects’ feasibility study. The training also ensured transfer of knowledge from ICED II and PLN, as PLN trainers co-delivered the sessions.
USAID ICED II has developed guidelines to assist PLN staff in reviewing feasibility studies of various renewable energy power projects, as proposed by independent power producers. To roll out and promote the adoption of the guidelines by PLN staff, USAID ICED II and PLN Corporate University are holding a series of ToT workshops. The first one was held on February 24-25, 2020, which focused on evaluating bioenergy power projects.
